Labour members from Winchester and across Hampshire have joined the protest against proposed County Council cuts that will spell the end of Sure Start children's centres across the County.

The protest on Friday 13th May saw a march from the council offices to King Arthurs statue on the Broadway to coincide with the council's annual meeting.  Winchester Labour Secretary Patrick Davies said ‘The run-down of Sure-Start started under the Lib-Dem / Tory coalition and these new proposed cuts spell the end – all our children's centres in Winchester will close as well as all those across the Hampshire. This will do real harm to the life chances of children and must be fought.'
