The 2018 May Local Elections are fast approaching, and with 15 City Council seats up for election in Winchester City Council, it is really important to register to vote, if you are not already so.

The last possible day to register is in just 5 days time, on Tuesday 17th April. The last day to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday 18th April at 5.00pm. Finally, the last day to apply for for a proxy vote (in non-urgent situations) is Wednesday 25th April at 5.00pm.

Click here to register to vote, here for the application form for a postal vote and here for the application form for a proxy vote. Find out more information about all of this on the Winchester City Council website here.

You can see our candidates and what wards they are standing in here, as well as our local Winchester and Chandler’s Ford’s Manifesto here.

If you are registered, make sure to remind your friends and family. In particular, check in with any young people you know. As universities no longer register their students together in block, some may find themselves not registered, and so ineligible to vote.

You may also know young people who have returned home after university, or moved for work, who have not thought to register themselves in their new constituency.

As the General Election last year showed, young people do have a voice and can make a difference!!

We have a great chance in Winchester and Chandler’s Ford this year, but we need our supporters to be able to cast their vote!!

It takes two minutes to check in with people you know – keep calm, register and vote Labour!!
